I want that

It is getting that time of year again. You know what I mean, the flood of commercials for useless toys that leave your kids saying " I want that". Now baby spawn is getting in on the game. every time she sees a commercial with anything with Dora in it, this is what she says to me " momma, look Dora boots, for me". Ugh!! You are much to young to demand such gifts. She desperately wants that Dora that dances. She has a mini stroke when she sees this commercail she yells for me,jumps and dances. When the commercial is over she says " hey"

So far I have not seen a commercial where one or all of the spawns does not say " I want that".

I told them they need to talk this all over with Santa. I was not getting in the middle of it. What sucks is I don't think kissing spawn really believes in Santa anymore. When I told him he needed to talk to Santa, he looked at me like you have to be kidding me.

I would love for them to believe in Santa forever, that way they don't come running to me when they don't get what they want. I would rather it be his fault.

As soon as I see Santa, I am going to ask him for a new camera. I am going to tell him that he can not expect me to take decent photos with my crappy hand me down camera.

I better go, this post was really useless and pretty much a waste of my time and now yours if you actually read the whole thing. I apologize, you can not get that one minute 20 seconds back. My bad.

Did you see Rosie O'Donnell on Martha Stewart a few days ago pushing that Dora doll as the hit for Christmas this year?

I think it will be the toy all the little girls want this year...Also a Tigger doll that does cartwheels...too cute!

You didn't waste my time... I agree with you on the commericals. You might find something with Dora on it for Christmas, but don't feel guilty if you don't get her exactly what she wants...

The kids in my life this year are getting toys that might not make them "ooooh and aaaaah" once opened, but they *will* be the ones that see the outside of a toy chest for longer than 5 minutes at a time. (breath...breath...) It just seems that many toys with a lot of commercial flair loose their fizz after only a week. This year I'm going to do shopping at places that aim at a kids creativity... ("Creative Kids Stuff", "Back to Basics Toys", etc.) Wooden train sets, magic tricks and the like. No more "hook this up to a tv and go through 40 battries to make you fight with your brother" toys for us!

Sorry. I'll get off of my soap box now.

We have bought several of those type dolls and they are a waste of space. Try to avoid them if you can.

Would you like me to send Z an email from santa, over at santa_sees@yahoo.com? Might shake him up a bit! I am doing that for the moms club kids, too funny!

Gee, I guess I am lucky when it comes to getting stuff for Mackenzie for christmas. She doesn't really ask for anything big yet. Last year all she wanted for Christmas from Santa was a Hulla-Hoop. It only cost me $10.00. That was easy enough.

I am not looking forward to when she starts really asking for the big things.

Santa Claus.. yet another parental control mechanism that unfortunately doesn't last into the 20's.. :)

I'm glad to find out that other kids do this--Faith is all about "Mommy, buy me that." Unless it's a dvd or coloring book, I'm not getting her anything commercial--no way. Puzzles, wooden toys and pretend cooking toys, pretty much for us. Talk to you later. And, so glad the little one slept. :)
