Mummified remains..eww!!

I posted some pictures I took a few months a ago of the baby being a dog...Just thought they were amusing....They are below...Along with a few other meaningless pots from today and last night....

A story just came to my head a while ago...Not a happy story by any means, but a story non the less..

When I was 7 I wanted a pet for my birthday..My parents eventually agreed and the pet I wanted was a hamster..Yup I wanted a rodent..So I got to go to the pet store and pick me out a shiny new rodent. I found a little one that I liked..It was white and had light brown spots and I named him/her butterscotch. He had a nice cage..All clear plastic..Some toys...All the stuff a rodent could want...One night I did not shut his door well enough..And I felt him crawling all over me..I woke up to find him running around my room. I could not catch the little shit...I finally chased him into my parents room where I woke them with a bloody yell.."Catch him catch him"...As one of my parents tried to regain conscioness I watched my litte buddy run right down the heat vent...Yup..His tail wagging the whole way down..I yelled..."He fell down the vent"...We took the cover off of the vent to try and get him out..But to no avail..No matter what we did he was stuck in there...He would not crawl back the other way..Kept on truckin...For weeks after that you could here his pitter patter of feet while he was living it up in the heat ducts...I would hear scratching and try to get to him..But never did.....

Years later My hubby and I ended up buying that house from my dad...He was buying a new house...And we were in the market to buy our first house so we did..It was kind of nice living in a familiar setting..A few years after we bought it..The house needed a new furnace..So we had a new one put in..The men who took out the old one drug the old furnace out and in the trail of dust, dirt and whatever else you can think of...Was my hamster..I shit you not...It was a perfect mummified specimen of butterscotch.....It was kinda creepy..But he had grown a lot...He was almost the size of a rat...But it was him alright..He must have lived it up for a while in the heat ducts...Because he sure had been eating well...Well there is my tail for the day.....Toodles

you are freaking me out! You see, living in South Florida, we had terrible trouble with rats/mice in our house. Not that your hamster is a rat or a mouse. But, it is the pitter patter of the feet in the attic that gives me the willies. Thanks for sharing.:)

Oh man, at least you were old enough to deal with it. Can you imagine if that had happened when you were still little? Although, it could make for a good scinece lesson...
