In the midst of my mid life crisis this was bound to happen. You recall me telling you about Meg Ryan spawn and her chest pains. Her EKG, her blood work and her chest x-ray all came back good. And she has not complained about it since, until today that is. I am one of those paranoid mom's. I hate it, but that is the way I am.
I took her to the Dr. Just to be on the safe side. The Doc told me that he was sure it was nothing, and not to worry about. He listened to her chest and says
" hmm, I don't remember hearing a murmur last time"
WTF!!.....Now I am in a state of panic. And he says that murmurs will not cause chest pain, and that most young kids have murmurs and he is sure it is nothing.
So Tuesday my baby is going to see a pediatric Cardiolgist and having an echocardiogram.
She will be 6 years old in a few weeks....And now I am worried sick. Why is it in the cards for me to go gray before I am 40? I think I need to do a list like the guy on the show " My name is Earl"
It must be my bad karma. I need a drink....Maybe 3 or 50.....

Christina, I am sure that everything will be ok but tonight at services I will mention you when we pray for those who need healing or strength. Don't worry about the gray thing hair dye has come along way. If you really feel like you still need a drink though I can whip up some smoretinis, trust me you will feel no pain afterwards.
THought I'd stop by and let you in on what was going on. Some ass decided to post anonymously about a comment I made about trading my camera or one of the kids to a mugger and I lashed out. I pretty much told them they were chickenshit and opinions were like assholes everyone had one and they all stunk. Anyways after I thought about it I decided to delete the entire thing because they don't deserve an answer from me. I'm just so sick of trolls.

She is REALLY CUTE! and she will be in my prayers as well as you and I am sure he is right, it is probably nothing. But be thankful you will get peace of mind going to someone who knows what could be causing it. Could be a growth thing. Hang in there hon!

Your Meg Ryan Spawn will be fine - it will be nothing... they like to cause worry for nothing... yep - that's it... She will be fine - but to help you sleep better - I've added her to a prayer circle - in a matter of minutes half of the US will be praying for good results.... (I have connections - perhaps having a Great Aunt that's a Sister, and an Great Uncle that's a Father has something to do with it?)

She is a real cutie pie. A murmur is not something to be worried about. I think the doc is being extra cautious and having her thoroughly checked out since she is complaining of those pains. My son gets terrible chest pains. He has for years. My hubby said he had them too for years while he was growing up. It could be something called pleurisy or it might be angina. Whatever it is, it needs to be checked. I'm sure you will be posting that all is okay next week, and if it is something, I think it will be something minor. I had one when I was a kid It went away later in life...I think in my teens. It didn't cause me any problems...It's probably fine. Sorry that you are worried about her...poor momma;(

Your daughter is soooooooo cute.
I vote for you to have it checked. Our daughter Karen, has a murmur. She has had it since she was little and it hasn't bothered anything. Her condition was called a mitro valve prolapse.
If they leak while sticking (or what makes the murmur) the blood doesn't all go where it is supposed to, instead some comes rushing back into where it came from. This makes for an inefficient heart if it is very leaky, and will need repairing.
People get them when they get old too. Mine has two, the mitro valve and the aortic valve. Old people their valves replaced when they get too bad.
Incidentally, Adi's vet said she had a heart murmur this morning. He rated them from 1 to 6, six being a really bad one. Adi's is about a two. He said his ears weren't good enough to hear a one.
He said old people and dogs get to coughing when these get real bad. Like congesitive heart failure which he said it would be for her then.
We will be praying for her too.

i developed a heart murmur with my 1st pregnancy, don't ask me why they say its pretty common and there are no real side effects. every now and then i can litteraly feel my heart skip a beat, that's really about it. don't worry momma!
She does look like Meg Ryan. That's pretty cool actually. One of my guy friends said that I look like her or Reese Witherspoon.
I'm sure that your baby will be all right. My friend had a murmur and it wasn't really anything that serious. However, my prayers are with you and your daughter in hopes that it isn't anything too serious.
I know how mothers worry because I have one who loves me very much.

Yes, she IS cute!! And try not to worry too much. It will only make you feel worse, and little Meg will start to pick up on that.
Both hubby and I have had heart murmurs for forever, and we haven't had any issues because of them. I was even ok when I was pregnant. So, I hope it's nothing more than that. But, I will keep you and her in my thoughts! Keep us posted!! :-)

Try not to worry too much, I have had a murmur all of my life as well as mitro valve prolapse and even with 4 pgs, I have never had a problem. It is good to know and have checked out b/c they usually like to give meds before you see the dentist to decrease the risk of infections.
Murmurs sound scary but in most cases, it's nothing bad.
