back in black

As you can see, I had a face lift. I was tired of being flip flop momma. I needed a change. Change can be good.

I will now be referred to as Rocker Mom...get use to it?

Moving right along..

I went to the gym tonight and rode 8 miles on the bike and did 15 minutes on the elliptical machine...those machines are sorta like being buried alive, or what I assume it must feel like.

it was hell. That was first time I have ever really been on one. I normally run 4 miles a day on my treadmill, so this was quite the workout, let me tell you.

I was hoping for cardiac arrest in the middle of it so I had an excuse to stop. But no, my ticker kept right on ticking in a normal rhythm. Curse my good strong heart.

I did get a free tshirt because my access card wont let me in the building like it should.

Go Me.

I was there about 2 hours, I tanned for 15 minutes and tried killing myself the remaining time.

While I was on the elliptical machine, this really cute man with Down Syndrome was biking next to me..he was there with his posse'. Or what I assume to be a posse'.

When he was done he walked over to me and told me I was pretty, even though my hair was sweaty.

And another guy, he did not have a posse, told me I had nice legs.

and I do, i really really do....they are all tone and full of buttocks kicking muscle..I don't mean to gloat, but yeah, its all true.

I think I will go every time I need a self esteem booster..

If the guy with Down Syndrome thinks I am pretty and the young guy..(who was very cute) thinks my legs are hot, why wouldn't I go back?

Maybe they have these guys planted in there, to keep us middle aged women who need a boost in our ego's coming back.

I will tell you what...

It worked.

I LOVE the look. I LOVE the name. (I considered redoing this myself and that was one name I considered. Great minds think alike!)

I think you should post a picture of those legs. That way, we can tell you whether it was the truth or just ego stroking!

Rocker_MoM said...

I have, look thru the archives, they are there me;)

and yes, great mind do think alike:)

Wow, miss a few or a bunch of posts and you come up with a new - well semi-new - name and look. Then it has to be filled with the fact you are super woman and have hot legs. So glad I stopped by when my life is in the toilet and yours is going no where by up! Just proves you are amazing and none of us mere mortals are worthy. Glad you didn't kill the in-laws even though it would have been great to see you on national news.

Nobody every tells me I have great legs. They are rather short. Or a nice butt. It is rather flat.

Go you.

I love commenting here because I get to see the little love bumpkin with the bright eyes every time. He is welcome to come mow my lawn anytime.

Love the new look/name!

Oh - about the Elliptical - they're deliciously awful. I hate that thing so much, and at the same time, kind of love it. The first time I tried it, it felt like using a stairmaster for the first time, where you get going too fast and can't keep up...only after awhile it gets better and you start feeling really good using it.

How nice that you got hit on at the gym! I go to a pretty much all-female gym so thankfully that's never happened (Not that there's anything wrong with that!) :-)

The new look and the name are so YOU; I LOVE IT!!

Keep working those legs. You're going to need strong legs when you visit me in Miami and I take you salsa dancing for three hours!

Rocker_MoM said...

yeah, Once I got off it, I really enjoyed it...I think because it was over;) first I was going backwards and wondered why it was not calculating my distance, then i figured it out...

I am a moron that way.

Oh Lord, I dont think this ole lady can salsa dance..I have no rhythem.

Your new look is very nice! It takes us old folks awhile to get used to new things. I will deal with it!

Hope your day goes well!!

I'm just glad you keep the same URL, cause every time you change your name, there's another blog that pops up with the same one.

I had this not-all-there-in-the-head guy show up on my porch once selling magazines. They dropped off a group of them in a big van, and they went door to door. Normally, this would disturb me, but he was very sweet while trying to talk me into a subscription. I passed, though.

When he was getting ready to leave, he looked around like he was looking for an attacker, and he said, "You're pretty. My momma always told me that if I saw a pretty woman it was okay to tell her she was pretty because she might not be told she's a pretty lady and it might make her happy. That's what my momma told me so I'm telling you that you're pretty."

Then he got this "oh crap" look on his face, and very panicked asked, "Where's your husband? I don't want him to beat me up. I don't want him to beat me up because I think you're pretty. You're husband isn't going to beat me up, is he?"

I assured him that no one was going to beat him up, and I thanked him for the compliment. I thought he was going to have a panic attack right there on my sidewalk and I'd have to call the EMS.

My husband pulled up in front of the house, as he'd been out running errands or something. That poor little guy took off running. I couldn't stop laughing.

In an odd kind of way, that made my day, and it really stuck with me.

Oooooo, Rocker Mom. Got a nice edge to it! :)

Reading about all that exercising made me all tired and shit. I need a shower and some kind of junk food now....

Humincat said...

Try pole dancing and you will no longer hate the elliptical. I posted about it, and it was baaaad, in the kick your ass and make you feel totally unsexy, but fun way. I think if I had hot legs it might have helped.....

Rocker_MoM said...

put down the twinkie..

Pole dancing huh?

OMG, that would be a very embarassing moment for me if i were to do that.

Jamie Dawn said...

Looking gooood, Rocker Mom!!!
Way to go! That's a LOT of working out!!
I've been exercising at home since the local gardens are too darn cold to go walking in. I'll walk there again come springtime.
Keep on Rockin'!

Well, I guess if it's snow time it is time to put away the flip flops. Rocker mom, even in comment responses. Neat.

The eliptical is much better for the knees than the running thing. Keep with that one.

And the legs, yup, totally awesome.

Caffeine Court said...

Wow, love the new image. We ladies need to get our kicks wherever we can. I get them from the produce guy and the pizza delivery man. You get it from the DS guy at the gym - whatever it takes right????
